The TARDIS arrives on Androzani Minor, the source of a life-prolonging drug refined from a substance called spectrox. Production of the drug is controlled by Sharaz Jek, a self-imposed exile. Jak blames Morgus, a powerful industrialist on Androzani Major, for all his misfortunes. Whilst Jek is fighting government troops sent to liberate the drug, unknown to him, his weaponry is being supplied by Morgus in return for spectrox. This gives Morgus a monopoly of the drug on Major. Jek becomes infatuated with Peri and saves her and the Doctor from being executed by Morgus, however the pair fail to escape a fatal disease contracted along the way… This story ends with one of the most notable regeneration sequences in the series' history, ushering in the sixth Doctor. Deleted on video 09/05/96 Extra features include commentary by Peter Davison, Nicola Bryant and Graeme Harper, extended scenes, behinds the scenes documentaries on the making of the regeneration scenes and the creation of Sharaz Jek, news reports, music-only options, the original trailer, a photo gallery and on-screen production notes.
